Aunt Gertrude's House

I thought I would share a little about the gallery that
carries my paintings for sale, Aunt Gertrude's House
in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Cherie and Ric Gorden opened their shop and
doll hospital in 1997 in the DeSteiguer Building,
one of the most beautiful buildings in Historic
Guthrie.

In their shop, Cherie and her talented musician husband Ric feature a variety of gifts and accessories, and a gallery with paintings, pottery, sculpture, glass, wood and jewelry. Cherie carries on the family trade handed down by her father who restored antique porcelains, and her Aunt Gertrude, who the shop is named after, of restoring and  repairing antique dolls. They also carry a wonderful selection of licorice from around the world.

Here are some of my paintings that are available at the gallery...

My mini bouquet series is there as well. Three miniature canvases on
mini easels. They make such perfect little gifts...

There are more mini canvases in the gallery, and then there are lots of notecards, blank inside and suitable for any occasion...

So, if you live in Guthrie, stop in and say hello to Cherie and tell her you read about her here on my blog. :)

If you live far away, and you see something you would like to purchase you can contact me here on my website or contact Cherie...

Hope you can plan a fun day out and visit some of the great places in Guthrie. Glenda's glass gallery is next door, where my daughter Tera blows glass, and don't miss having an incredible coffee at Hoboken.

So glad you are feeling better, Karin! And that you are back to painting. I think I might even do some too. I wish I lived close enough to stop by Aunt Gertrude's. The whole town sounds charming.

Thanks, Pam. I wish you could visit some time. It would be fun to take you around. There is even an incredible quilt store about 5 minutes from me. ;)

Karin, hope the signs of spring are giving your heart a lift, too.
I especially appreciate the scriptural verses you share.
Thanks for the referral to the Hoboken site. I left a message there
regarding "rest." You know the rest that the Lord has made for us
after His creative work in 6 days. Its amazing how this pattern
has been preserved despite the human tendancy to take law into
their own hands and make something new and improved, which
usually has unhealthy side effects. I suggested that this nice
young couple speak with you and Scott regarding God's design
for work and rest. Their blog opened up this opportunity.

Thank you, Susan. Glad you went to the Hoboken site. They are a really special young couple who started their business without getting into debt. Waited for two years actually...the Lord has blessed them.
