Last Day

1/30/2014

Today is the last day of 30 Paintings in 30 Days and I'm tired and ready for it to be over. At the same time I will miss the challenge of painting every day and keeping up with all the other artists. There really are some wonderfully talented people out there. If you are interested in seeing all the artists' collages from the last 30 days, they will be posting them starting tomorrow. Just visit Leslie Saeta's blog Painting is My Passion.

I had fun trying out some gallery wrapped canvases, which means they have a  deep edge that   can be painted and then  hung  without a frame. All four 6" x 6" paintings below are the gallery wrapped ones. To see more photos of the edges visit my blog Simply Painting.
I also went to Guthrie Lake on one of the warm days we had and painted my first Pleine Aire painting, which means you paint a scene outside.  I'm planning on doing a lot more of that. It was so different than what I am used to. Anna went with me and drew with her pastels. It was a beautiful day...

Tomorrow I'll post a collage of all my paintings. I managed to paint 27 paintings in 30 days. If you hold your cursor over the picture, the title and price will show up.

Enjoyed so much looking at all your work. I am so happy for you
and you are so talented. Don't know who you got all the talent from,
not from me. I think maybe your dad was real talented but never
did anything about it. Keep going with your beautiful work.. What a
nice gift Karin. I love you. Mom

Thanks for visiting my blog. I am fortunate that my husband used to model for me a lot, and now both of my sons do..
That 30 paintings in 30 days was an interesting experience for me. It made me want to paint MORE.
So falling into this 29 faces in 28 days (go figure) when I am only sketching and not painting, it almost feels like cheating.

your oil paintings are wonderful. bright cheerful windows of life.

Thank you, Mimi for stopping by and for the compliment. I have really enjoyed your paintings during the 30 Day challenge and now I am so impressed with your 29 faces. I think I might have to try getting my sons to model for me...I do have photos of them, but modeling would be a new experience for me.
